Arjun Ganguly, German & British – SVANEKECELLISTEN 2022
Age: 24. Started playing the cello at the age of 6. At 14, got accepted on the young talent programme at the Conservatorium of Amsterdam. In Amsterdam, Arjun was part of the string ensemble ‘Fancy Fiddlers’, with whom he was given the chance to perform concert tours around Europe and play chamber music with world-renowned soloists. In 2015, he started a double degree in Physics and Music Performance at Imperial College London and the Royal College of Music. Throughout his studies, Arjun played with orchestras, as a tutti cellist, section leader and soloist.

Är uppväxt i en musikerfamilj och har spelat cello sedan 8 års ålder. Efter gymnasiet studerade jag kandidat (bachelor) vid Musikhögskolan i Västerås och fortsatte sedan med min masterexamen vid musikkonservatoriet i Köpenhamn. Sedan min examenarbetar jag som cellolärare och frilansande musiker.

18 år og går på tredje år på MGK Hovedstaden med Ingemar Brantelid som hovedfagslærer. Starter sine studier på DKDM efter sommerferien. Startede i sin tid med at spille cello på Det Danske Suzukiinstitut hos Caroline Tarras-Wahlberg inden optagelsen på MGK. Hun er uddannet kirkesanger fra Sjællands kirkemusikskole og har fast arbejde som kirkesanger i Ålholm kirke.

Mariela Honkikangas, Finnish – Assistent
Age 24. Mariela just finished her bachelor’s at The Royal Danish Academy of Music, where she is also planning to continue her master studies next autumn with Toke Møldrup. She started playing cello at the West-Helsinki Institute of music in 2005. She also studied at the Sibelius -high school music line, and finished her double degree at The Conservatory of Helsinki. Besides this she has also always actively played in many youth orchestras and ensembles, like DUEN (Det Danske Ungdoms Ensemble) and attended in many masterclasses.
